Caesars Head State Park in South Carolina serves as the connector between Gap State Park and the Mountain Bridge Wilderness area. This means triple the hiking trails are available from Caesars Head, where visitors can hop on a loop that traverses all three nature preserves.
Caesars Head State Park gets its name from a dramatic granite outcropping at the Blue Ridge Escarpment in South Carolina. That's also home to one of the park's most iconic views. Every fall, viewers here get a front row seat to nature's spellbinding seasonal change.
Every moment of the day provides a new perspective at Caesars Head. In the evening, low sun shining through clouds makes the surrounding mountains appear on fire.
The park offers more than 13,000 acres of pristine wilderness that's preserved, protected, and just begging to be experienced. Within this expanse, you'll find six waterfalls, 18 campsites, and more than 60 miles of hiking trails.
Raven Cliff Falls is one of the most popular trails in the park. This four-mile trip leads to a scenic overlook where you can view the 420-foot waterfall. For the more adventurous, a 6.6-mile trail will take you to a suspension bridge over the same falls. The perspective is unparalleled.
Trail access costs $3 for adults, $1.50 for South Carolina seniors, $1 for children age 6-15, and ages five and younger hike for free.
