Sensational views aren't too difficult to find, especially living in a city with perhaps the best skyline in the country. However, if we're willing to venture out beyond the city limits, we will discover some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes anywhere. A trek along the McCune Trail, for example, leads to an overlook near Pittsburgh and absolutely striking views.

About an hour and a half from downtown Pittsburgh, Ohiopyle State Park is perhaps best known for its most recognizable waterfalls - Ohiopyle Falls and Cucumber Falls.

However, the 20,500-acre park boasts nearly 80 miles of hiking trails that lead to a variety of hidden gems - waterfalls, remants of a working farm, and scenic overlooks.

Tallying 3.7 miles, the McCune Trail wanders through a lush green forest, picture-perfect no matter the season.

Be prepared for a bit of a challenge. The path earns a moderate rating from All Trails.

However, some hikers assert that the trail isn't so hard that you can't take your kids or dogs along.
