Ohio Amish Country is beautifully charming no matter the season.

Taking the Amish Country Scenic Byway warms your heart in ways you can’t describe, making you long for home, family and simpler times. That’s why we think it’s one of the most scenic and and under-appreciated drives you can take in Ohio. (For specific routes and other information, click here.)

Along this scenic byway, you can see for miles and miles. The homes are spread far apart, and the fields are vast.

Bright red barns against the pure white snow are especially beautiful in the wintertime...

...but even without snow, the rolling hills of Ohio Amish Country warm your heart and make you long for simpler times.

The Ohio Amish Country Byway includes more than 160 miles of beautiful countryside, weaving through several Amish towns and counties.

Along the way, you might even see snow rollers (pictured), which is a rare meteorological phenomenon that occurs when large snowballs are formed naturally via wind.

Before you end your drive, make a stop at your favorite Amish restaurant―or even Ohio's oldest general store, (pictured.)
