It’s Impossible Not To Love This Breathtaking Wild Flower Trail In Montana
Glacier National Park offers stunning wildflower views and easy hiking trails, especially the Hidden Lake Trail.
One of the many reasons Glacier National Park is heaven on Earth: it's home to about 1,000 species of flowered plants. You'll find wildflowers in various parts of the park from April through August, especially near some of the hiking trails. To see some gorgeous flowers up close and personal, check out the 5 mile Hidden Lake Trail this summer.
The entire length of this hike is open, meaning you'll pass through field after field of wildflowers.
You just might see some wildlife on your hike as well. To find your way, start at the Logan Pass Visitor Center. At the back side of the visitor center, you'll find a stairway to the trailhead.
The weather here tends to be a bit windy, even during summer, so plan accordingly.
The breathtaking views will be worth the wind.
The entire trail is about 5 miles in length and is considered easy to navigate, so it does get crowded in the summer.
Start early in the morning if you'd like to beat the rush.
Since parts of this trail often stay snowy, there are boardwalks along the way to help keep hikers above snow level.
Eventually, you'll come to the Hidden Lake Overlook...
... and you'll see panoramic views that are just as beautiful as the wildflowers you've seen along the way.
Some of Montana's most beautiful hikes can be found at Glacier National Park, but you'll find trails for all skill levels all over the state. Here are a few easy hikes that are perfect for beginners.
