Hidden Lake Overlook In Montana Is The Perfect Spot For Stunning Fall Views

Fall can be a bit volatile in Montana, especially at Glacier National Park. But somewhere in between the summer sunshine and the first (several) feet of snow, there's a blissful time period perfect for checking out all the fall foliage in Glacier. October is a fantastic time to go explore the Hidden Lake Overlook.

The Hidden Lake Overlook is located in the Siyeh Bend area of Glacier National Park.

The trail is just under three miles in length and is ranked as a moderate hike.

The hike begins from the west side of the Logan Pass Visitor Center.

Look for the signs on the back side of the Visitor Center and proceed from there.

One of the best parts about this trail is that the entire length is open and exposed.

This means you'll be treated to some fantastic views as you trek through these alpine meadows.

This is one of the most popular hikes in the park in the summertime, but like most areas, it slows down quite a bit in the fall.

Sometimes the trail is closed for part of the summer due to grizzly bear activity as well, but thankfully, grizzly sightings are surprisingly uncommon here.

The overlook provides outstanding views of Hidden Lake, which really lives up to its name.

The lake is surrounded by three mountain peaks: Bearhat Mountain to the southwest, Clements Mountain to the north, and Reynolds Mountain to the east.

Avoid the potential crowds by leaving early in the morning and beginning not long after sunrise.

Not only will it be quieter and more peaceful, but the early morning light makes the landscape glow.

Fall is a fantastic time to visit Glacier National Park, as long as you pay close attention to the weather.
