Enjoy A Scenic Stroll On A Little-Known Path Through The Woods In Missouri

With hundreds of hiking trails in Missouri, we're never too far from our next adventure. Missouri's many trails promise something for everyone - from challenging backpacking treks through lush forests to leisurely walks around shimmering lakes. All of those hiking paths mean one thing. We're bound to overlook or simply not know about at least a few. That might be the case when it comes to this pretty hiking path in Unity Village, Missouri.

Unless you live in or near Unity Village or Lee's Summit, you've probably not heard of Unity Village Nature Trail, a pretty path that tallies just 3.1 miles.

The parking lot, which provides plenty of spots, is right at the trailhead.

With an easy rating, this picturesque path is predominately gravel and has just a few slight inclines, which might pose a bit of a challenge.

Pups are allowed on the trail. Just make sure your dog remains on a leash, and you clean up after him. Some hikers consider the trail kid-friendly, too, although the gravel path isn't really conducive to using a stroller.

You'll also pass prairies. In the warmer months, expect to deal with gnats and other bugs. Bug spray is a must.

Keep an eye out for the natural bridge, too.

A hidden cave. Make sure your smartphone is charged or you've brought your camera. You never know what surprises you'll stumble upon along the way.

Pack sunscreen during the warmer months. Part of the trail provides ample shade while the rest will have you directly in the sun.

If you need a break, sit down on one of the benches that is strategically placed along the trail.

Chances are pretty good if you're walking on a lovely weather day, you'll pass other hikers and maybe even some local wildlife, including deer, squirrels, and birds.
