The Dogwood Canyon Waterfalls in Missouri Will Soon Be Surrounded by Beautiful Fall Colors

Autumn's vibrant colors begin to paint the Missouri landscape in mid-September, but it's October that we really start to see those colors shine. I don't know about you, but fall is my favorite time of year. I love the crisp air, wearing cute sweaters (my winter wardrobe is much nicer than my summer wardrobe), and of course, watching the seasons change in real time. Most of us probably want to embrace every moment of the spectacular fall foliage. Fortunately, we have a long list of places to admire the fall colors - from high above on a zipline to local farms during fall festivals. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, home to numerous pretty waterfalls in Missouri, provides a picture-perfect backdrop for a day trip during the autumn, too. Let's take a look at some Dogwood Canyon waterfalls in Missouri.

Spend a morning or an afternoon leaf-peeping at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park in Lampe, which spans 10,000 beautiful acres.

The sprawling nature park transforms into an artist's palette, painted in rich golds, oranges, and reds every autumn. The park's masterpieces, however, just might be its gushing waterfalls surrounded by trees and drenched in the colors of fall. The fall foliage in Missouri generally peaks between the end of October and the beginning of November. Mother Nature is anything but precise, so we won't know the exact dates until we're in it!

Plop down on the lush grass, right by one waterfall, to admire the fall colors and to listen to the sound of the waterfall tumbling down.

Stop by Dogwood Mill & Canyon Grill Restaurant, which provides sweeping views of a waterfall from the outdoor seating area and from the restaurant itself.

However you choose to view the waterfalls, save time to explore the rest of the nature park, dotted with other, smaller waterfalls flanked by the fall foliage.

Dogwood Canyon Nature Park also offers a long list of adventures, including bike trails, horseback riding, and wildlife tram tours.
