Taum Sauk Mountain State Park in Ironton is perhaps best known for two things.

It's home to Mina Sauk Falls, the tallest waterfall in Missouri, which boasts a drop of 132 feet.

You can reach Mina Sauk Falls by following the moderately challenging trail of the same name. The trail also leads to Missouri's highest point.

You'll also find the highest point in Missouri, which measures 1,772 feet.

As you drive toward the summit, following signs along the way, keep an eye out for the parking lot.

You'll have a short walk of about .03 of a mile to the summit itself. The path is ADA-accessible, making it a fun and easy adventure for everyone.

While you'll definitely want to check out the informational markers at the overlook, you'll likely be struck by the sweeping views - at least at first.

Don't forget your camera. You might want to plan a visit in each season to see the changes on the mountaintop.

If you're up for a bit of a climb, head to the nearby fire tower. The trek to the top can be tiring, but the views at the top are definitely worth it.
