Exploring waterfalls in Mississippi is the perfect summertime adventure. Wouldn’t you agree? If so, you’re in the right place because we’ve compiled a list of a few falls for you to explore in the warmer months - but not just any waterfalls. We deliberately sought out Mississippi waterfalls that require little or no effort to reach. So, if you're looking for roadside waterfalls near me in Mississippi, this just may be the list you're after.

1. Rawson Gully Falls - Lauderdale County

This hidden waterfall in Mississippi can be found along the roadside in Lauderdale County. It's rather surprising how obscure it is, because it's actually one of the tallest waterfalls in the state. At 40 feet in height, it dwarfs most of the other waterfalls in the Magnolia State. Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. It's just a short stroll from a makeshift parking area. However, the walk to the fall is steep, so be careful, especially if the ground is slick! You can get detailed directions on how to reach this beautiful secret waterfall from Michele's World.

2. Cooper Falls - Natchez Trace Parkway

Cooper Falls is quite the sight. This towering 50-foot cascade is just north of J P Coleman State Park. The flowing fall can easily be viewed from the shoreline of Pickwick Lake. Willing to put in a little bit of an effort? You can paddle right up to the waterfall for even closer views. Since it's not far from the park, you'll have access to plenty of amenities, like a beach, camping sites, hiking trails, and much more. It's one of the prettiest waterfalls in Mississippi.

3. Dunn’s Falls - Enterprise

There's a lot to love about Dunn's Falls Park. The crowning jewel of the park is the waterfall that shares its name. Impressive to say the least, the waterfall stands at 65 feet in height, making it the very tallest of all the waterfalls in Mississippi. At the park, you'll be able to view the fall from above, and also from its base. The base can be accessed by descending a set of stairs. This is such a great place to spend a summer's day. Splashing around in the pool below the waterfall is the perfect way to cool off. You can also enjoy a picnic area and nearby BBQ grills, so make sure to pack a lunch! The trail here is one of the best waterfall hikes in Mississippi.

4. Union Falls - Jones County

Tucked away in Jones County, the breathtaking Union Falls can be found on Tallahala Creek. This waterfall in Mississippi is an absolute stunner but is no longer open to swimmers. However, it’s still something special to look at and enjoy!

5. Merit Falls - Mendenhall

This tiny but mighty waterfall is situated within Merit Water Park, but it's not the park's only perk. Merit Water Park is centered around a natural spring-fed creek, which boasts an old-fashioned swimming hole. Since the creek is spring-fed, the water is clean and pristine. It's nice and cold all year long, making it the perfect place to take a refreshing dip on a hot day.
