Mooselookmeguntic Lake is part of the larger Rangeley Lakes region which encompasses six lakes in all. The area is close to both the New Hampshire and Canadian borders.
The lake is fed water from several sources including Cupsuptic Lake, Rangeley River, and Kennebago River. In turn, Mooselookmeguntic Lake's waters flow into Upper Richardson Lake. The waters of Mooselookmeguntic Lake are pristine, making this an ideal place to enjoy swimming!
With an average depth of 60 feet with a maximum depth of 132 feet and covering an area of 25.5-square miles, it is one of the largest lakes in Maine.
Within the lake are two islands known as Toothaker Island and Students Island. Both islands may be visited by boat and have beaches, hiking trails, and wilderness campsites.
Mooselookmeguntic Lake is a popular fishing spot. Boats rentals and charters are also available from the rental companies in the area.
To get the best views of Mooselookmeguntic Lake, head to Height of Land, a scenic overlook found along the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway. You'll get sweeping views of the area surrounding this pristine lake.
