Welcome to Indian Rock Trail at Salina's Indian Rock Park, a short and beautiful hike that passes by two waterfalls on the same river! It's no surprise that its one of the best waterfall hikes in Kansas.
The trail and park are both named after a spot called Indian Rock, a marker of the Battle of Indian Rock in 1857, where indigenous people of Kansa, Potawatomi, and Delaware tribes clashed during one of the last significant skirmishes.
1.2 miles of loop trails means that not only can you take multiple trips around, but you can always find your way back to the beginning with ease.
Though some parts of the trail will inspire you to climb, we caution you to keep to the trail, as there have been numerous calls to 911 to report injuries. We wouldn't want you to get stuck out on the trail with injuries!
Both of the waterfalls are great spots to sit and rest your legs for a while, listening to the water rush along. How peaceful!
The trail isn't too tough to get through, but make sure you're dressed for the appropriate weather with a good pair of sturdy shoes or boots. Although easy, it is still one of the best hiking trails with waterfalls in Kansas.
Dogs are allowed on the trail, but make sure they're kept on a leash! We wouldn't want them to accidentally run off a small cliff. As always, make sure you pack everything with you that you brought in, including food scraps and papers.
