With a population of 372, Emigrant is a tiny town by any definition. That being said, it’s certainly not without its character or its charms. All it takes is one visit to the Old Saloon to see that.

Emigrant is such a small community, though, that you really can't miss this place.
The saloon dates back to 1902, and although it has been renovated, it still maintains its historic charms.

This spot was originally opened to service the rail line passing through the Paradise Valley en route to Yellowstone National Park. Although it closed in 1920 during the Prohibition era, it was reopened in 1962 by the son of Abe Armstrong, the man who rebuilt the saloon after a 1907 fire tried to claim it.

The Livery Stable is appropriately named -- it's made from an actual stable dragged down the hill in the 1970s and attached to the Old Saloon.
