There’s A Restaurant On This Remote Maine Farm You’ll Want To Visit
Maine has incredible nature and amazing food. But, what happens when we merge the two? An amazing four-course dinner under the stars is what happens! Welcome to an incredible evening of locally sourced food and drink, complete with music and pretty much in the middle of nowhere!
Pineland Farms, located in the hills of New Gloucester, is a 5,000-acre working farm.
The farms' mission is to "provide a productive and educational venue that enriches the community by demonstrating responsible farming techniques, offering educational opportunities and encouraging a healthy lifestyle through recreation."
Graze at Pineland Farms is an ongoing dinner event that features a variety of local growers and producers.
These dinners are Maine's only farm-to-table dining event working to highlight the importance of recognizing and preserving community heritage, the farm, and other local producers.
Dinners at Pineland (the winter version is elsewhere) take place throughout the summer and fall and include dinner outside with the farmers and chefs who were a part of the creating the meal.
The goal of these experiential dinners is to "strengthen local communities and economies, and to create new and sustainable income streams for local and family farmers, as well as craft beer, spirit and wine producers."
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
