Farmland in Maine is beautiful and many offer tours to share stories and methods with the public. While these are great, imagine how much better it would be with a freshly baked loaf of bread in one hand! If that sounds appealing, you're going to love a trip to this Maine farm. Tucked away in the Androscoggin River Valley, this lovely farm is a great day trip.
The Androscoggin River Valley is beautiful, and it makes the perfect setting for one of our favorite farm bakeries in Maine!
Acting as both an organic vegetable farm and Inn, their in-house bakery and farmstand is not to be missed!
They've been using natural and organic practices since 1983, way before "organic" was a buzzword.
No View grows over 80 different crops, provides year-round volunteer opportunities and they plant habitat areas to attract beneficial insects and wildlife.
We especially love that their farming methods allow them to integrate farm production with longer-term environmental goals.
The farm believes that supporting local food and farms is key to fostering a healthier and economically vibrant community.
While we love their beliefs and methods, it's the baked goods sold wholesale and retail that might be our favorite!
This freshly baked Maine Triple Berry Bread is worth waiting for!
Not to mention their pies...
...and things like this Cranberry Orange Challah.
And, let's not forget the more sugar-laden desserts like this Double Layer Cheesecake.
Hungry yet? There are a few different ways to get your hands on this deliciousness!
You can find No View products at restaurants and farmers' markets as well as through a Community Supported Agriculture project, or CSA.
Signing up for the CSA means you are supporting the farm in exchange for produce and farm output throughout the year. This helps forge a connection to the community year-round.
No View Farm is located at 55 S. Rumford Road in Rumford. You can call them on (207) 364-6300. Or, check their Facebook page for more information.
Another great farm day trip is this one. Enjoy miles of lavender and then head to their shop in town to stock up!
