Everyone In Maine Must Visit This Epic Farmers Market At Least Once
Living in Maine means fresh air and forests, coastal breezes and beautiful days. It’s exactly these things that also make Maine the best place to be if you love fresh veggies and fruits, flowers and home made baked goods. While you might be able to get these at a neighbor’s house, there’s a one stop shop in Portland that might just be a tad easier. The Portland Farmers’ Market in Maine is just one of many, but it’s truly wonderful.
The Portland Farmers' Market was the first in the city, dating back to 1768.
One of the most special vendors is Fresh Start Farms, a collective of immigrant and refugee farmers who are part of a farmer-training program that empowers new Americans to launch independent farm businesses.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
