Visit This Farmhouse Brewery In Maine That’s Undeniably Charming
Anyone who’s spent some time in Maine knows that it’s high on charm. Picturesque towns and lots of beautiful nature are enough to have visitors packing their bags and moving to Vacationland. That’s why we weren’t surprised to find that even our breweries are delightful and lovely. This one, located in a farmhouse, is a wonderful local place to visit for some brews and snacks.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Odd Alewives Farm Brewery is located in tiny Waldoboro, Maine and it's one of the most lovely places in the state to enjoy a craft beer.
The barn, which houses the brewery and tasting room, was built in the 1820s, though it's been completely renovated. And the land surrounding it includes gardens and forest allowing visitors to feel removed from every day life.
The mission of Odd Alewives is to create a beer that "refreshes, and sustains the hardworking body and mind." That means the ales here reflect an authentic product with pure ingredients. And each season can be felt and tasted within the beer.
Odd Alewives is located at 99 Old Rte One, Waldoboro, Maine. They’re open Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. They’re closed from Monday through Wednesday. You can keep up on what’s happening at the brewery through Facebook. Or, to learn more about then, visit their website. They can be reached on 207-790-8406.
For more food and beverage fun, visit this pizza spot in East Waterboro. They have more than 100 different pizza toppings which will probably keep you busy (and full!) for a long time.
