Rocky & Carlo's has been in Chalmette for over 50 years.

Tommy Tommaseo opened the restaurant with his brother Rocky and his brothers-in-law Carlo, Mario, and Giuseppe in 1965 and it has stayed in the family ever since.

The down-home eatery is your familiar no-frills, all-flavor type of joint.

Family friendly and always casual, it's a spot where everyone is welcome.

You may be wondering about the "ladies welcome" signs on the front of the building. The five founding owners had previously worked at Angelo's, a nearby restaurant/bar that was known for being inhospitable to women. When they opened the restaurant, they wanted to make sure everyone knew this was more of a restaurant than a bar, and that everyone was welcome.

They're also known for their huge portions, so you better come hungry when you come to Rocky and Carlo's.

The Creole-Italian eatery is VERY generous with their portions.

The menu is full of all your favorite Creole and Italian dishes.

From muffulettas to meatballs, they do it all. But there's one dish that has become iconic with Rocky & Carlo's, and that's the macaroni and cheese.
