This Hawaiian-Themed Restaurant In New Orleans Will Transport You Straight To The Islands
When you can’t get away to the Hawaiian islands, a visit to this Hawaiian-themed restaurant in New Orleans is just the ticket. From the food to the elaborate cocktail menu, this is one of the most unique restaurants in New Orleans, and that’s saying something. Let’s check it out.
Tucked away in the heart of the French Quarter lies a fairly unassuming building that you may have passed by a dozen times, but never given a second look.
Beachbum Berry’s Latitude 29 has been around since 2014, and it’s time you pop in and discover what might be one of the most unique hidden gems in New Orleans.
Part restaurant, part bar, you’ll have to be at least 21 to sit in the bar area.
No worries though, minors are permitted to sit in the restaurant area, and that’s exactly where we are headed.
From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the islands.
A relaxing and inviting atmosphere sets the vibe at this exotic eatery. This is one of those restaurants where you could stay for hours, enjoying light bites and great company.
Speaking of light bites, their menu at this little gastropub includes Polynesian and Hawaiian flavors you won’t find anywhere else.
And includes options for gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan guests. There’s something for everyone.
For starters, a rack of their pork ribs is an absolute must.
This 1/4 rack has a sweet and savory flavor that might just make you fall in love at first bite.
For main dishes, you can’t go wrong with their Loco Moco entree.
This popular dish includes a beef patty, shiitake mushrooms with a soy sauce glaze and coconut rice with a fried egg on top.
They've also got several salad, burger, and traditional New Orleans fare on the menu.
No one goes hungry at Beachbum Berry's.
And of course, what trip to the islands is complete without a fruity funky cocktail.
Their extensive cocktail menu is carefully crafted by owner Jeff Berry, who spent years researching exotic drinks.
These are the types of drinks that are almost too pretty to drink. Almost.
Every drink comes with its own beautiful garnish. All you need is a beach to sink your toes into!
Their happy hour is 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. every day, and includes discounted prices on certain drinks and menu items.
