  • Rock Rest Falls (North Vernon): Access to these falls begins at the Calli Nature Preserve parking lot where a two-mile hike guides you down a steep trek. Some of the lovely scenery includes jagged limestone cliffs, forests, hawks, and other wildlife.
  • Hemlock Cliffs Falls (English): Located in Hoosier National Forest, a 1.2-mile moderately difficult hike leads to the pretty falls. Part of the scenery includes the interesting rock formations along the way.
  • Squire Boone Caverns (Mauckport): Home to the largest rimstone dams accessible to the public, the exciting rushing streams carry more than a million gallons of water through the cave and over underground waterfalls!

What are some of the best waterfall hikes in Indiana?

  •  Nine Penny Branch Loop (Charlestown): This moderate trail is 2.3 miles, offering rich wooded scenery along the way. A bench overlooks the small waterfall allowing you to linger a moment, appreciate its beauty, and take some photos.
  • Nubbin Ridge Trail (Shoals): This two-and-a-half-mile trail is located in the stunning Bluffs of Beaver Bend Nature Preserve. It takes you along the beautiful bluffs towering above.
