It’s true – let’s take a closer look at one of the lesser-appreciated, elusive falls: Rock Rest Falls.

Hidden away on the grounds of the breathtakingly gorgeous Calli Nature Preserve is a waterfall that is neither enormous nor significant, but its delicate splendor is still worthy of seeking out.

Its volume varies at any given time based on rainfall, snowmelt, and other factors; sometimes, it's a mere trickle. Others, it's a cascade. Timing is everything.
Calli Nature Preserve is no slouch itself; the entire grounds is amazing and worthy of exploration. The falls are the frosting on top.

The preserve - and the falls - are outrageously photogenic, and it's something to look forward to year-round (but most especially in the spring, during snowmelt and rainy times).
Rock Rest Falls is one of those places that look and feel like something out of a movie instead of the ol' Midwestern United States.

Of course, you'll want to save time to explore the rest of the preserve, too. It's all beautiful, even if you're coming for the waterfall.

Here, you'll find an array of native plant species, including some delightfully rare ones. Recently, the Preserve received an amazing gift: the gift of 10,000 new trees thanks to a couple of generous grants.
So, come for the waterfall, but stay for the wonder - it's worth it.
