Waterfall in Indiana Near Me

August 22, 2021

Where can I take some waterfall hikes in Indian?

Indiana has no shortage of waterfalls, with more than 20 around the state. Most of them are accessible via a trail, and one thing is for sure: few things are more breathtaking than Indiana waterfall trails. If you’re a park kind of person, you can hike to see waterfalls at places like McCormick’s Creek State Park, where you’ll be blown away by the photogenic nature of the falls there. You could also hike to both falls at Cataract Falls State Park and, if you feel like it, there’s plenty of camping to be done, too. There are so many options, in fact, that we put together this awesome road trip which will take you to several different Hoosier State waterfalls – most of which you can hike to.

What kind of outdoorsy things to do in Indiana are there?

The Hoosier State is a great place for outdoors enthusiasts and nature lovers. It’s the perfect place for outdoorsy, active folks, as there’s tons of incredible places to explore filled with natural beauty. Camp, fish, hike, swim, and otherwise enjoy yourself at any of our 24 amazing state parks. Explore our three National Parks sites, which will both amaze and fascinate you. More daring folks can do something like taking an epic zip-lining tour or explore Indiana’s amazing cave systems. If you’ve never experienced dunes before, Indiana has those, too, as well as a few dark-sky cities where you can get a front-row to brilliantly starry skies at night. The possibilities are endless, and you’ll be amazed at just how many options there are.

What are some must-see natural wonders in Indiana?

Sure, the Hoosier State may not have things like the Grand Canyon or towering Redwood trees, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its own amazing, must-see natural wonders. For example, did you know the Hoosier State is home to the largest table rock formation east of the Mississippi? It’s true – check out this strange and wonderful Jug Rock, near Shoals, Indiana. You can also see some truly unique geology within Indiana’s awesome cave systems – Bluespring Caverns is a famous one that you have to tour to believe! We’re home to plenty of waterfalls, geological wonders, and more, so don’t count Indiana out while planning your next adventure.
