Marvel at Some of the World’s Largest Objects in the Little Town of Casey, Illinois

How many of the largest things in Illinois can you name? And how many have you seen? I discovered that the idea to add these massive attractions to Casey was started by local business owner Jim Bolin. He worked alongside his crew to bring them to life, and I think it adds a level of coolness to the tiny town of Casey. Over the years, both locals and visitors have flocked to the town to see these attractions. The town is a blast to run around in and take pictures, so be sure to bring your camera. Currently, there are 12 certified Guinness World Records for the World's Largest Attractions as well as many other supersized objects. Here are several of the world’s largest things in Illinois that are a must-see. These unique roadside attractions are perfect for a family-friendly road trip to Casey.  

1. World's Largest Rocking Chair

Standing 56 feet tall, this rocking chair really rocks and became a certified World Record title holder on October 20, 2015. You'll definitely want to get a picture standing next to this massive chair.

2. World's Largest Golf Tee

To elicit more interest in the town's public golf course, this 30-foot-tall tee was built. It received its World's Largest dedication in 2013. Over the years, many golf enthusiasts have stood next to it.

3. World's Largest Wind Chime

World's Largest Wind Chime was built in 2011 with a 56-foot frame and its longest chime measures 42 feet. It's quite a massive structure.

4. World's Largest Pitchfork

This 60-foot-long pitchfork received its World's Largest title on October 20, 2015, and was the first of its kind.

5. World's Largest Barbershop Pole

This large eye-catching object is an ode to the barbers in this small town. It stands at 14 feet, 7 inches tall.

6. World's Largest Mailbox

Go inside and climb up the stairs of this real working mailbox. And if you place a letter in the slot, the flag will raise! This roomy mailbox, which also gives visitors a view of the town, is 5,743.41 cubic feet.

7. World's Largest Golf Driver

Jim Bolin created this 45-foot-long golf driver at the request of several fans of the World's Largest Golf Tee. Come here for a photo of the driver along with the large mousetrap.

8. Giant Bird Cage

This birdcage is perhaps one of the favorites for visitors. Just step inside, close the door, and have someone snap a unique vacation photo!

9. The Big Yardstick

Yardsticks normally measure 3 feet, but not in Casey! This large yardstick is 32 feet long. Can you imagine what that looks like?

10. The Big Pencil

It may not be the world's largest, but it is the largest pencil they have here in Casey! And for many of us, it is the largest pencil we will ever see.
