Train lovers will go wild to know that there’s yet another train-themed cafe in Illinois that deserves some attention. Located at the end of a Chicago rail line, this amazing little diner in Fox Lake has been in business since 1996 and is known for its homemade breakfast fare.

Whistle Stop Cafe in northern Illinois is a charming restaurant located at the end of the line for the MD-N (Milwaukee District North) Metra Train out of Union Station in Chicago. Though it is the city's commuter train, this line in particular, which goes through gorgeous Lake County, offers some very scenic views along the way.

This train-themed cafe has served as a pit stop for many traveling to and from Chicago on the Metra line. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff as well as down-home decor and furnishings that will make you feel right at home.

Patrons get to dine right by the trains. Toy models line the walls of this themed restaurant. It is the perfect place for railfans and kids of all ages.
