The dining scene in Washington is arguably one of the best in the country, which is good news for foodies—but that can also mean lengthy wait times for tables. And if you don't have a reservation for dinner in our larger cities like Seattle and Tacoma, you could end up very hangry.

We're not claiming that the restaurants on this list are never busy—they serve delicious food, so sometimes they're packed with happy patrons. But you definitely don't need a reservation if you hope to dine here.

1. Ruins, 825 N Monroe St., Spokane

The menu at ruins changed fairly frequently based on the chef's inspiration, but two things remain consistent: The good food and the fact that you can almost always slide right into a booth to enjoy it.

Admittedly, Bar Bistro doesn't look like much from the outside. And that may be why there's rarely a long wait for a table. From the burgers and salads to the steak frites and seafood, everything on the menu is excellent.
