10 Mouthwatering Restaurants In Washington Where You’ll Never Need A Reservation
The dining scene in Washington is arguably one of the best in the country, which is good news for foodies—but that can also mean lengthy wait times for tables. And if you don't have a reservation for dinner in our larger cities like Seattle and Tacoma, you could end up very hangry.
We're not claiming that the restaurants on this list are never busy—they serve delicious food, so sometimes they're packed with happy patrons. But you definitely don't need a reservation if you hope to dine here.
1. Ruins, 825 N Monroe St., Spokane
The menu at ruins changed fairly frequently based on the chef's inspiration, but two things remain consistent: The good food and the fact that you can almost always slide right into a booth to enjoy it.
2. Grandma’s Kitchen, 36 S. Colville St., Walla Walla
Grandma's Kitchen is warm and inviting, just as it should be. Plus, the Mexican food here is wonderfully authentic.
3. Heyday, 1372 31st Ave. S., Seattle
It's exceedingly difficult to find a spot in Seattle that isn't perpetually packed. But Heyday, a fancy burger joint in the Leschi, manages to stay under the radar.
4. Zesta Cucina, 5110 Tieton Dr., Ste 210, Yakima
This elegant Italian gem has been a Yakima favorite for decades. And despite the scrumptious Italian food and the beautiful setting, patrons are almost always seated right away.
5. Naan & Brew, 200 East Maple St., Bellingham
Bellingham's favorite Indian restaurant has only been open for a couple of years, but it's already a beloved part of the city. But plenty of people get their orders to-go or have it delivered, so if you want to dine in, you'll always get a table.
6. Bar Bistro, 1718 99th St E., Tacoma
Admittedly, Bar Bistro doesn't look like much from the outside. And that may be why there's rarely a long wait for a table. From the burgers and salads to the steak frites and seafood, everything on the menu is excellent.
7. Brewz on Barker Bistro, 18723 E. Cataldo, Ste A,
Spokane Valley
The unassuming exterior makes this place look casual, but the food served here is top quality. It's a small, cozy space, but there always seem to be a few tables open.
8. Red Lantern, 520 S Jackson St., Seattle
This International District gem is one of Seattle's best kept secrets. The authentic Chinese food is delicious, and you'll rarely have to wait long to taste it.
9. Cascadia Grill, 200 4th Ave W, Olympia
Celebrate the Pacific Northwest with a meal at Cascadia Grill, where the cuisine is local and the entree names, such as "Cohos Gone Wild," are amazing. The only serious thing here is the taste of the food.
10. Tap Union Freehouse, 1300 Washington St. Ste 200, Vancouver
While hundreds of people across the border in Portland are standing around waiting outside restaurants, people in Vancouver are at this spot, feasting on gourmet bites and drinking local brew.
Trendy restaurants are great, but some of our best meals are enjoyed in our local neighborhood spots.
