On Your Way To The Mountains, Enjoy Lunch By The River At This Hidden Gem BBQ Spot In South Carolina

Discover a hidden gem BBQ restaurant in South Carolina, perfect for a scenic and relaxing stop during a road trip.

It’s always nice while on a trip to have a great place to stop on the way to stretch your legs and maybe grab a bite to eat, especially if it’s a longer trip and if you have children with you. It’s even better when this place is fun, interesting, or has a special location, such as by a river with the peaceful sounds of water while you eat. We're excited to have found a hidden gem BBQ restaurant in South Carolina to share with you!

Right off Highway 276, the BBQ Hut is just a short drive from the Cleveland end of the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway and on the way to the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area.

It's a rustic, converted RV space with a window you walk up to and place your order.

You'll enjoy peaceful sounds from the Middle Saluda River, which may be just what you need if you've been cooped up in the car during a roadtrip to the mountains! It's become the go-to spot for some on the way to and from hiking trips.

The pork barbecue is some of the most tender, flavorful meat you've ever had. But you can also get chicken or brisket as well if you don't like pork or are in the mood for something different.

There are a good variety of freshly made sides to complement whatever meat you decide on.

The prices are fair, service is friendly, and there's a covered area with picnic tables if you want to eat while you're here. Otherwise, grab and keep going on your way!

Visit Jan's BBQ Hut Facebook page for additional information, including hours of operation (currently open only Fridays-Sundays). Have you ever eaten at this BBQ restaurant in South Carolina? Share your experience with us!
