There is so much to love about this state. We have breathtaking scenic views of both mountains and the ocean, rich history and culture, and nice weather most of the year. One of the best things about this is that it’s hardly ever too cold for ice cream! And while there’s no shortage of ice cream shops, it’s rare to find a place like Charleston Creamery, a homemade ice cream buffet in South Carolina that will delight all who love this sweet treat.
Charleston Creamery is actually located on John’s Island in Suite 144 at 3642 Savannah Highway, about 11 miles from downtown Charleston.
You will decide on your ice cream flavor or get your yogurt (self-serve), and then the fun of deciding which toppings you want to add to it begins. There are lots to choose from!
When you’re finished, you’ll place your treat(s) on the scale and pay for your order.
Who knows what kind of combination you might end up with?!
Maybe you have certain favorite combinations in mind already, like fruity toppings with frozen yogurt.
Or if you’re more adventurous, you might like to just toss whatever looks good into your treat.
There could be something new to try, like this new flavor that was added in 2021, the Mud Pie, a combination of coffee ice cream with chopped almonds and Oreos. Yum!
There are also other types of options available as well, such as milkshakes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, and even ice cream pie, oh my!
This one is chewy ginger cookies filled with rich, delicious vanilla ice cream.
Pumpkin ice cream pie was available at Thanksgiving one year. What a nice holiday twist that would be!
Ice cream bars are also on the menu. This is a Vietnamese coffee ice cream bar, which sounds interesting and was another 2021 menu newcomer!
The kids and kids-at-heart will especially love the fun seasonal presentations.
Whatever you choose, have a seat and enjoy every bite!
Check out the Charleston Creamery website and the Charleston Creamery Facebook page for more details including current menu offerings with potential more recent, newer flavors. And if this is your first time on Johns Island, be sure to check out the unbelievable, massive 400-year-old Angel Oak while you’re there.
