In 2018, a car crashed into the building, leaving locals worried. No one hurt in the accident and the restaurant was renovated while still maintaining its nostalgic charm.

The simple, unassuming nature of the building only adds to its appeal.

The menu consists of the classics - burgers, hot sandwiches, and delicious breakfasts served all day - but everything tastes fantastic, and it's clearly made with love.

The business was originally launched by Shirley Davis, who worked with her daughters Karla Husemoller and Linda Walden from day one (hence the cafe's name).

After a decade, Shirley sold the business to her daughters and they've been running things ever since.

You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu... but if you have a sweet tooth, trying a cinnamon roll, pasty, or cake is a must.

The Family Affair is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
