This Restaurant In Montana Used To Be A Schoolhouse And You’ll Want To Visit

Yesterday’s Calf-A in Dell, Montana, is a historic schoolhouse turned eatery known for its delicious pies and hearty American food.

There's a pretty good chance you've never heard of Dell, Montana. With a population of 123, this Beaverhead County community barely has a post office. But there's one thing they do have that every Montanan deserves to experience: Yesterday's Calf-A, an old schoolhouse that has been converted into a cozy eatery that serves scrumptious pie.

Yesterday's Calf-A is located in an old one-room brick schoolhouse complete with a bell tower and bell.

The school was constructed in 1903 and filled with students until 1963 when the school was consolidated into Lima's school district.

Yesterday's Calf-A opened in 1978, and they've been serving their hearty American food ever since.

The cafe is known for serving hearty breakfasts, burgers and dinner entrees...

...but here, it's the pies that are the shining stars.

The pie menu rotates daily and is based on what's available seasonally.

Even if the food here wasn't fantastic, coming to Yesterday's Calf-A would be worth it for the experience alone.

Luckily, the food happens to be fantastic as well.

School is always in session at Yesterday's Calf-A.

They are open seven days a week, but their hours vary. Typically, though, you'll find them there from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
