The Montana Restaurant In The Middle Of Nowhere That’s So Worth The Journey
The Happy Heifer Bar and Grill in Winnett, Montana, offers a unique dining experience with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere.
Winnett, Montana is a tiny town (population 194) in a very small country (Petroleum County, population 550). It’s located about 70 miles from Lewistown, with Billings being the nearest major city. Needless to say, this is not a tourist town. In fact, there are only two restaurants in the entire area. And while they both (thankfully) serve good food, only one can have the kind of unique charm you’ll only find at a place called The Happy Heifer.
Established in 2013, the Happy Heifer Bar and Grill is open every day from noon until 2 AM.
This is a place where area locals gather to talk, drink and eat together.
The bartenders know most of the customers by name.
Like any good bar and grill, the Happy Heifer serves delicious burgers and ice cold beer.
They’re also known for their homemade pizza, which is far better than one would expect from their bar food.
If you stop in, expect to be greeted with a smile and made to feel like family.
Winnett is a small community, but the locals are kind.
You’ll find occasional specials here, like mouthwatering smoked ribs. Last year, the Happy Heifer even hosted a Valentine’s Day dinner.
The next time you find yourself driving down Highway 200 in Central Montana, stop in Winnett for a meal.
If this restaurant’s name doesn’t lure you in, the promise of delicious food should.
Have you been to this hidden restaurant in Montana? Sometimes the most remote restaurants are also the best. The Grizzly Bar in Roscoe is a great example.
