And coincidentally, one of Montana's oldest and most beloved drive-in eateries and ice cream shops just opened for the season. If you happen to live in Pondera County, you're probably pretty excited about the return of The Main Drive-In.

The Main Drive-In is located on Main Street in Conrad, where it has been for decades.

And while a few things have changed since it opened in 1956, it definitely still maintains a nice, friendly, 50s vibe and a vintage charm.

The Main Drive-In is only open seasonally, typically from April through September.

Its annual opening always gives locals something to look forward to.

This place stays perpetually packed all summer as people enjoy the old-fashioned ordering system, including car hops.

Most people prefer to eat in their cars or at the outdoor picnic tables.

The burgers here are out of this world, made from 100% Montana raised beef...

...but, without a doubt, it's the desserts that keep people coming back for more.

The ice cream selection is not only fantastic, but irresistible.

While you may be tempted to try a sundae or a banana split, most customers can't resist the dip top cones.

The Main is proud to carry the largest ice cream dip top selection in the state, ranging from cookie dough to blue raspberry and strawberry banana.

Although The Main is open for business, the team is complying with current safety suggestions.
