This Is the Best Buffet in Idaho, Known for Its Signature Breakfast Dishes

Mornings in Boise are extra special when you visit this breakfast buffet.

I want to start off by saying that I’m not a big buffet person. I would much rather choose a single dish to satisfy my craving. However, there is one buffet inside a Boise hotel restaurant that is changing my mind. The Riverside Hotel’s Riverside Grill is a locally-sourced kitchen that serves a long list of crowd favorites, but it's also home to one of the best breakfast buffets in Idaho. From in-house pastries to signature dishes, it is a delicious way to start your day.

The Riverside Hotel is a beautiful place to stay during a getaway to Treasure Valley or even for a delightful staycation. This hotel is located on 18 acres next to the Boise River. It is actually Boise’s largest full-service hotel and convention center, and it offers a range of amenities to make your stay a memorable experience.

Book a stay in one of the guest rooms or suites, each one designed with comfort in mind. You can also relax in either the indoor or outdoor saltwater pools, work out in the gym, or sit back and enjoy the beautiful views in either the courtyard or the beautiful lobby. There’s even daily live music for you to enjoy, and warm cookies are provided when you check in.

The on-site dining options are just one more way this hotel stands out from the others in Treasure Valley. Step into Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill or Bardenay Distilling Co. for lunch and dinner. There’s also The Sapphire Room, a ticketed music venue with dining and a full bar, or BAR365, a full-service lobby bar. In the summer months, the Sandbar Patio and Grill is outdoor dining with a pub menu and live music.

But there's something special at the Riverside Grill.

The Riverside Grill is a casual restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inside, you’ll find a beautiful dining room that feels elegant but still has that homey vibe. Each of the menus are quite extensive, with options to satisfy all ages. For breakfast, you can choose plated items like biscuits and gravy or build your own omelet. The lunch and dinner menus are just as delicious, with items ranging from delicious salads to chicken and burgers. Just a little tip: save some room for dessert. You can’t go wrong with sweet treats like the Riverside Carrot Cake or the Crème Brulee Cheesecake.

While there are many wonderful options no matter the time of day, if you want to start your day off in a truly delicious way, the Riverside Breakfast Buffet is not going to disappoint. You’ll want to fill your plate high with items like made-to-order omelets, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, French toast with maple syrup, fruit, sausage, and thick-cut bacon. The buffet also features many signature items, including caramelized pepper bacon, oatmeal made with coconut milk and pure vanilla, fresh in-house pastries, and, of course, Idaho-style fried potatoes. The buffet uses local “Idaho Preferred” ingredients whenever possible.

The breakfast buffet is available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and prices vary for adults, seniors, and children. If visiting on the weekend, the buffet is extended until noon and includes many brunch items like frittata with tomato, basil and mozzarella, mini desserts, and salads. Plus, on the weekends, you can enjoy delicious food and live music from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and when you start it off at Boise's Riverside Hotel breakfast buffet, you’ll feel unstoppable and ready to tackle whatever comes your way. To book your stay at the Riverside Hotel and for more information on the hotel’s many restaurants, including its breakfast or brunch buffet, visit the Riverside Hotel website. I also recommend following the Riverside Hotel’s Facebook page for news and updates.

If this is your first time in Boise and you want to get out and explore a little, I recommend hiking to Table Rock, visiting the Discovery Center of Idaho (if you have children), or walking along the Boise River Greenbelt. In fact, the Riverside Hotel has bicycle rentals on site if you’d rather cycle this beautiful paved trail.
