Take A Trip To River Island Adventures In South Carolina, An Adventure Park That’s Tons Of Fun
River Island Adventures in South Carolina offers unique outdoor experiences including kayak tours, river tubing, and Survivor-style challenges on a private island.
The oft-quoted, renowned Dr. Seuss said, "You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting so ... get on your way!" Oh, but today it’s not a mountain waiting, rather, an island. That’s right. And all those escape rooms are going to need to move on over because this is an escape island at an adventure park in South Carolina that is calling your name.
River Island Adventures, located in Longs on the Waccamaw River about seven miles from North Myrtle Beach, offers a variety of experiences including kayak and boat tours ...
... relaxing river tubing ...
... and reality-TV-style challenges. Escape River Island is one that has been offered in the past.
This challenge is a one-of-a-kind adventure game that's part Survivor, part Amazing Race, part Escape Room.
An Adventure Host guides six teams of two (for a total of 12 people) down to the River Island Adventures' private 48-acre island in the Waccamaw River, where the teams compete in ten different Survivor-style challenges. Some teams are relatives and could include children as young as 7 years old.
Others are couples.
There are friends who come to enter the challenge together.
And then some companies come for a corporate retreat and divide into teams to compete. It's a perfect team-building exercise!
It's always a blast, but especially if you win!
And at the end of a crazy-fun day, gather around the firepit to roast some marshmallows and make s'mores.
Stay overnight at one of the campsites, including glamping tents, treehouses, wooded campsites, or island campsites.
You'll definitely be staying in an island campsite if you're competing in an island challenge that runs over multiple days, such as the Castaway Challenge or Survive River Island Challenge. Do you have what it takes?
A place and an adventure like this is really hard to get a feel for in photos only. So we’ve found a great drone video to help you get a little taste of all that awaits at River Island Adventures:
