Pennsylvania’s Botanical Garden, Goodell Gardens & Homestead Is A Work Of Art

Colorful flowers and lush plants add a pop of color to the landscape. Even if we're not lucky enough to have a green thumb, we can still enjoy the spectacular beauty of the flowers, the plants, and the trees at one of the state's many public gardens. This botanical garden in Pennsylvania, for example, offers a tranquil way to spend a few hours.

Sprawled across 78 acres in Edinboro, Goodell Gardens & Homestead welcomes visitors to explore its lush grounds seasonally.

If it's your first time visiting, you might want to join one of the guided walks, held on select Sunday afternoons. The tour is informal but offers a good introduction to the gardens.

Or simply slip on a pair of comfy shoes and explore on your own. Begin at the Welcome Garden, where you'll find such classics as roses and lavender.

The botanical garden in Pennsylvania is also home to a pollinator garden, heritage gardens, and native plants.

Discover such native plants as the hemlock, Pennsylvania's state tree, and the mountain laurel, the state flower.

Goodell Gardens also hosts a library with a growing collection of more than 300 gardening books. Head over to the welcome center to browse the collection and check out a book.

You will generally have to pay a nominal admission fee when you visit.

Admission is free for garden members, students at the University of Edinboro, and kiddos under five years old.
