Located just 12 miles from Libby, Kootenai Falls is one of the largest free-flowing waterfalls in the Northwest. And as beautiful as the waterfall is, the (short) journey there is just as amazing... unless you're afraid of heights.

This bridge was built by the Forest Service to access forest fires across the Kootenai River.
A flood took the original bridge out in 1948, but it was rebuilt on concrete piers and is now protected from flooding by the Libby Dam.
The parking lot for the falls is located just off Highway 2 between the towns of Troy and Libby.
The bridge is located less than a mile from the parking lot.
The bridge offers the best views of the falls.
It sits 100 feet above the waterway and is 210 feet long.
The bridge might be a little nerve wracking if you're afraid of heights, but the rewards are worth it.
Crossing this bridge may not be for everyone, but it offers some of the best views in the state.
