This Castle Restaurant In Montana Is A Fantasy Come To Life
The Keep, a castle-like restaurant in Missoula, offers beautiful views, a great menu, and a romantic dining experience.
Once upon a time, in Missoula, there was a landmark restaurant called The Mansion. Tragically, in 1992, it burned down after more than 100 years of existence. But soon, a new castle-like restaurant was born from its ashes, and Missoulians were more than happy to welcome it. Today, The Keep remains one of the most beautiful restaurants in town.
The Keep, also called Shadows Keep, is located at 102 Ben Hogan Dr. in Missoula.
It's part of the Highlands Golf Club, but it attracts plenty of non-golfers as well.
The restaurant opened in 1993, one year and one day after The Mansion burned down.
It was sad to lose a local landmark, and it's great that something beautiful could be built in its place.
Inside you'll find a lounge, a dining room, and large windows with panoramic views.
But here's the best news of all: the food is actually wonderful.
This place doesn't make a living off ambiance alone. You'll find plenty of hearty classics on the menu, plus a few daily specials.
A lot of effort is put into the menu here, and it shows.
And if you love wine, you'll love the large selection here. Sometimes they even host five-course wine dinners.
Dining at The Keep is a peaceful, romantic experience.
The restaurant is open daily from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. You'll have to provide your own crown, though.
The Keep is a beautiful eatery with an eye-catching exterior. That being said, you should never judge a restaurant solely by what it looks like — these unassuming restaurants are proof of that.
