If There’s One Fall Festival You Attend In Montana, Make It HarvestFest
HarvestFest is a one-day fall festival in Montana that takes place in downtown Billings and is a great family-friendly event.
If there's one thing Montanans love, it's a celebration. While it's true that most of us prefer a low-key off-the-grid life, when it comes time to get together, we certainly know how to have a good time. Fall in Montana is the ideal time to join in one of the many fall festivals across the state. There's something about the crisp air and colder temperatures that just begs us to be outdoors. If you can only make one fall festival in Montana, head to Billings for the annual HarvestFest on October 11, 2025. This annual event has fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Each year, the Downtown Billings Alliance and Montana Brewing Company host HarvestFest on the second Saturday in October. HarvestFest is always located under SkyPoint, a tent-like structure over the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Broadway in downtown Billings.
The event typically lasts an entire day and usually begins with a parade or a welcoming ceremony.
From 9 a.m. until about 4 p.m., you'll have plenty of exciting options to welcome in the fall season. The street festival always includes exciting prizes you can win, homemade gifts you can purchase, and treats you can enjoy. One of the most popular foods of the festival is the pies!
In the past, the festival has hosted pie-eating contests and other pie-focused events. While the schedule for this year hasn't been released yet, you can bet there will be some delicious pie.
In addition to the tasty treats, you can shop for locally made crafts and other gifts at HarvestFest. From local artists to farm fresh produce, you'll be filling your trunk with all sorts of new things to take home.
If you bring little ones with you, they can enjoy face painting, games, and activities as well. It's a true family-friendly festival where every age can find something to enjoy. The Wise Wonders Science & Discovery Museum is coordinating the children's play area, offering a variety of interactive games, arts, and crafts.
While you're there, don't miss the chance to walk around and experience everything downtown Billings has to offer. Billings is Montana's largest city, and the downtown area has welcomed a lot of new businesses in recent years. Many local shops in the area will have extended hours that match up to the festival, so you can stroll the streets and check them out.
Visit the official Harvest Fest website for more information. As the date draws closer, more vendors will be announced, as well as the live entertainment schedule, games, contests, etc. Follow Downtown Billings on Facebook so you don't miss out on any upcoming announcements for Harvest Fest.
