The Montana Store That’s In The Middle Of Nowhere But So Worth The Journey

Granny's Country Store in Silver Star, Montana, is a historic and charming general store known for its extensive book collection and serving as the town's post office.

If you've never heard of Silver Star, Montana, you're not alone--it's located between Whitehall and Twin Bridges along the Jefferson River, and only 278 people call it home. And while there's definitely not much to the town, it does have a ridiculously charming store that's rooted in local history.

The Granny's Country Store building is over 100 years old, and the store has had the same owners since 2003.

You'll find this charming place on Highway 41 N in Silver Star.

Granny's is a general store, so you'll find some staple grocery items there.

But more than anything, this place is known for its book collection.

You can even buy books on the store's website, so Granny's has customers all over Montana (and the country).

But here's the best part of Granny's Country Store: It also serves as the town's post office.

The post office has been in this building from the beginning, and the owners prefer it that way since it makes it much easier to pack and ship books.
