Spend A Day In The Water At This 50,000-Square-Foot Aquatic Center In Boise, Idaho

There’s nothing quite like spending the day swimming but here in Idaho, it can be difficult to swim year round. The winter weather can make swimming options limited for individuals of all ages. However, in Treasure Valley, that is no longer a worry. In June 2023, a new 50,000-square-foot aquatic center opened its doors. Located in Boise, the Idaho Central Aquatic Center, also known as the Greater Boise Aquatic Center, officially opened to the public and now provides a space for everyone to work on their strokes.

This aquatic center was designed to provide more swimming options throughout the year as well as a space to learn water safety, participate in water activities, etc. It was built to address a growing need in the state and it has certainly accomplished its mission.

This 50,000-square-foot aquatic center features something for every skill level and interest. Here, you will find an eight-lane 50-meter competition pool as well as a separate six-lane 25-yard swimming pool.

The various pools not only provide a large space for swimming competitions, but it allows the public to swim laps, take various water fitness classes, and more.

Additionally, you can visit the aquatic center to perfect your skills. Swim lessons will be available in a warm-water pool. Lifeguard training will also be taught at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center.

Large swim events will be held regularly at the aquatic center, including many competitive meets for swimmers of all ages. During these events, there are amenities such as shower facilities, locker rooms, and a concessions area.

The Idaho Central Aquatic Central is located at 3575 S Findley Avenue. Before visiting for public lap swim, always visit the aquatic center website to learn about its current hours. Public swim hours will vary depending on events, high school swim practices, and water polo practices and games.
