Here in Idaho, we have attractions where you'll want to sit back and enjoy the view. We also have a few that will make your heart race. MSN released a list of the most terrifying attractions in every state in America. While some of these attractions across the country included rollercoasters and frightening ski slopes, the most terrifying attraction in Idaho may not be what you expect.
The Perrine Memorial Bridge in Twin Falls was named Idaho’s most terrifying attraction. This bridge crosses the Snake River Canyon and is 1,500 feet long.
So, why was this bridge named the most terrifying attraction? It is because it is a popular place for adrenaline seekers who want to get a rush BASE jumping year-round.
The Perrine Bridge is the ideal place to go for this heart-racing activity as it sits 486 feet above the Snake River. In fact, this is the eighth-tallest bridge in the United States.
While BASE jumping is not an activity you want to tackle on your own, there are companies in the Twin Falls area that can help you experience the thrill.
Tandem BASE, for example, is the first company of its kind to allow inexperienced individuals to jump from the bridge while being strapped to a highly experienced BASE instructor. You can learn more about Tandem BASE in our feature article.
But if you aren't into BASE jumping, don’t worry! While the Perrine Bridge may be considered the most terrifying attraction in Idaho, we also think it deserves to be on the list of the most beautiful and mesmerizing. This bridge is the subject of some gorgeous images.
You can even walk across the bridge (no jumping required!) and capture gorgeous views of the Snake River, the canyon, and waterfalls.
So, what do you think? Do you agree that the Perrine Bridge is the most terrifying attraction in Idaho? If not, what attraction do you believe should take its place? We’d love to read your thoughts in the comments!
You can learn more about the Perrine Bridge on the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce website. Don’t forget to check out the MSN article to read about several other terrifying attractions around the country.
