Follow The Bluffs Overlooking Escambia Bay Along This Scenic Drive Through Florida

Because of how Florida is so wonderfully shaped, there are quite a few scenic drives that you can take to give you some epic ocean or Gulf views. Take driving down A1A as one of the best examples. But we have another scenic drive, perhaps not quite as lengthy as A1A, that will be a nice little refresher along the coastal bluffs of Pensacola. Drive along Escambia Bay overlooking the beautiful scenery of the north when you drive the Pensacola Scenic Bluffs Highway in Florida.

The Pensacola Scenic Bluffs Highway takes drivers on a beautifully quiet scenic drive.

If you've never experienced it before, it runs along the delightful Escambia Bay and is truly one of the most scenic byways in Florida.

Many drivers start in Riverview and drive along U.S. 90 or vice versa.

Along the way, they enjoy the flora and fauna of the area as they reach the waterfront.

The highway runs parallel along the bay, taking guests through numerous beautiful places.

This includes Lora Point, Gull Point, Bohemia, and Gabberone before hitting the spot where U.S. 90 bridges the Escambia River.

Clocking in at 11 miles total, many locals have dubbed this the perfect Sunday afternoon drive.

There is just so much to see including beautiful scenic overlooks, glimpses of the bayou and bay, and so much more.

Keep in mind, that there are plenty of places to stop along the drive.

From each one, you can really take in all the natural beauty.

Check out Bay Bluffs Park, for instance.

At Bay Bluffs Park, you can see the perfection of the cliffs with a front-row seat.

There are wetlands and old-growth pines that you’ll drive through, too.

Just make sure to bring a camera and take lots of scenic photos. Also, if you really want to level up the scenery, make sure you take the drive at sunset!
