The Village of Arts is a real, working artists community near downtown Bradenton, Florida. The village is made up of historic homes painted in bright, eye-catching colors.
This whimsical village in Florida covers an area of more than 275 homes, including early 20th-century cottages and traditional Florida Cracker-style houses.
Some have been converted into artists studios, shops, galleries, bakeries, restaurants, and health and wellness centers.
Many of these colorful bungalows of The Village of Arts serve not only as the artists' homes and studios but also galleries that are sometimes open to the public.
It's a rare treat to be able to view an artist's work inside their home, but you can do just that during weekly Artwalks. These First Friday events are held on the first weekend of every month, beginning on Friday evening and ending Saturday afternoon.
