When the leaves begin to change colors and cascade to the ground… it is a wonderful time in Colorado! If you are looking for a new way to get out and enjoy the changing seasons, we recommend climbing aboard this incredible, one-of-a-kind fall foliage train in Colorado for a memorable ride through the Colorado mountains:
Since 1884, the Georgetown Loop has delighted visitors of all ages via its state-of-the-art (for the time) three-foot narrow gauge railroad line.
In 1938, the last commercial line ran from Denver to Silver Plume, leading to the dismantlement of the Georgetown Loop.
Thankfully, in the late 1950s, the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park was formed by the Colorado Historical Society, and the area was restored and reopened in 1984.
Today this beautiful railroad is open year-round and features such exciting experiences as a North Pole Adventure, a wine and cheese train, a Fourth of July ride, and more. While all of these special excursions are wonderful, our favorite has to be...
...the Fall Colors ride, which runs between the scenic Devil's Gate & Silver Plume Depots.
The Georgetown Loop Railroad Fall Colors ride allows guests the chance to "enjoy the changing of the leaves as you wind through the aspen-filled Rockies between Georgetown and Silver Plume."
Where else can you get a colorful opportunity quite like this?
The cost to ride through these amazing fall colors starts at $35 for adults and $30 for children (ages 3-15).
