Located in the eastern Colorado town of Burlington, the Kit Carson County Carousel is a true hidden gem on the Plains, as the ride was originally manufactured for the old Elitch Gardens.

Made in 1905, the Kit Carson County Carousel - or Philadelphia Toboggan Company Carousel #6 - was sold in 1928 to make room for a newer and more modern version, which is when the animals and the rest of the amusement's parts were put into storage.

After 10 years of collecting rust and dust, the Carousel was once again put to use, with restoration efforts ongoing since the 1970s.
