Located at Chena Hot Springs, right outside Fairbanks, this is a great hike to do if you’re visiting the area. It’s the perfect activity to pair with a good soak in the hot springs.

Whether you’re spending the night at Chena Hot Springs Resort, or you’ve just driven in for the day, this is a good trail to get you acquainted with the area.

The trail starts right at the resort. It then makes a huge loop through the beautiful Alaskan tundra before heading back.

There are so many wonderful features on this hike, including a bridge over Monument Creek.

The whole trail is filled with views and details that will make you truly enjoy your outing. And the trail is easy enough for even the youngest members of your party.

In fact, the trail is only 2.9 miles long.

Long enough to get a great view of the area, but short enough that it shouldn’t take too long to complete. It’s a win-win situation!

The elevation gain is only 219 feet throughout the entirety of the trail.

You can get a day pass to the hot springs right at the resort.

It’s worth it because you’ll want to spend hours soaking in the natural mineral pools. It will be hard to get out once you get in!
