Many of us feel like learning is an ongoing process. And there are plenty of ways to continue learning online. But why limit yourself to learning things like history and science (awesome things, by the way)? You can learn to do some pretty off-the-wall things, all in Wisconsin, and all for a reasonable time and financial investment.
1. Learn to skydive
Many of us have skydiving on our bucket list, so let's do it! If you're going to skydive, might as well make it over a beautiful place. Superior offers beautiful scenery on the ground, so I imagine from high up, it will be spectacular. The people over at Skydive Superior can hook you up.
2. Become a wine snob
You can become even more irritating to your beer-chugging bestie. But in all seriousness, if you appreciate wine, you will enjoy it so much more if you learn about it. The Executive Pub in Sheboygan will make you so smart about wine.
3. Take an aerial yoga class
Now this one is interesting. Many of us haven't even taken a yoga class, let alone on in the air. Did you know this was a thing? Well, apparently it is, and it looks super fun. It's like training for the circus and a workout all in one. Head over to Monarch Aerial Yoga and Dance in Stevens Point for a class.
4. Blow your own glass
I had no idea how glass was made before I took one of these classes, and it definitely helped me understand the work that goes into making glass art. Square One Art Glass, in Milwaukee, offers classes for people to experience making glass. Hope you have strong lungs!
5. Ride a horse
Horses are all around in Wisconsin, but many of us haven't had the experience of riding one. If you are going to ride a horse, why not make it a ride to remember? Head over to Dream a Horse, offering horse riding lessons in scenic Kettle Moraine.
6. Make your own cheese
I feel like learning to make cheese should be part of the high school curriculum in Wisconsin. So many of us eat it (multiple times a day), but don't know how to make it. At the Cheese Maker, in Mequon, you can learn how to make some great cheeses. And if you fail, horribly, you can pick some up from their shop.
7. Become SCUBA Certified
It is true, you can learn to SCUBA dive. And in Green Bay of all places. You will get great instruction, but you also have the opportunity to go on some COOL trips like exploring shipwrecks.
8. Learn to sail
Growing up in Wisconsin, a lot of us have operated a boat (especially if dad had a few too many and we had to drive back to shore). But many of us have never sailed, which is a totally different boating experience. Unleash your inner seafarer at Green Lake Sailing School, over in beautiful Green Lake, Wisconsin.
9. Be an artist
There is nothing more satisfying than creating something, especially if that something happens to be beautiful. Over at ArtHouse Studio in Saukville, you will learn how to make all sorts of art in a comfortable setting. While you will be taught by professional artists and art teachers, people of all skill levels can attend.
10. Drive a race car
All of us secretly pretend to be race car drivers at some point in our lives. But why risk getting arrested when you can drive an actual race car (not that old Nissan) on a race track. Head down to Elkhart Lake--specifically, Road America--for the experience of a lifetime.
