One of my favorite places to hike in Wisconsin is Perrot State Park. There’s a little bit of climbing, but the trail up Brady’s Bluff is gorgeous. As the trail winds back and forth up the bluff, it travels through a stands wildflowers, and the view of the river below is incredible. I enjoyed every step of my last hike, which I think is one of the best hikes in western Wisconsin, and here’s what I found on the trail.

Trempealeau County is a place for people who love to traverse the best of Wisconsin’s scenic beauty – there are gorgeous driving routes, as well as great hiking and biking trails.

It borders the Mississippi River, and it’s also home to a beautiful park – Perrot State Park.
The park is named after Nicolas Perrot, a French explorer who visited the region in the late 17th century, It covers over 1,200 acres and it’s beautiful. I parked in a lot not far from the entrance and decided to hike the Brady’s Bluff Trail. My hike started in the cool shade of the woods, but as I traveled up the trail, a different scene emerged.

The trail is narrow and steep, and there are more than 100 types of plants along the trail, as well as some rare animal life.
The trail rises about 460 feet, so it was a good workout.
