The Rave/Eagles Club, known locally as “the Rave,” is a festive place – for decades it has been brightly decorated for the holidays. It has also hosted some iconic acts over the years, including The Grateful Dead and the Sex Pistols.
When Covid-19 shut down the live music industry in 2020, the Rave began offering special behind-the-scenes tours that showcased a darker side of the venue – it’s about as haunted as places come.
The Rave now offers haunted holiday tours that introduce visitors to the spookiest corners of the venue. The Rave was built in the 1920s, and it’s reportedly home to many ghosts, as well as some creepy stories.
One famous musician, Buddy Holly, died in a tragic plane crash after playing his last show in the ballroom along with other musicians. Downstairs in a now-abandoned pool, there have been several reported drownings.
There are many unexplained sounds and sights in the building, usually after hours. For example, some people hear shuffling feet down by the pool. In other cases, lights switch off for no apparent reason, and a man has been spotted on a balcony, only to disappear into thin air.
