This Train Car Restaurant In Washington Is A True Hidden Gem

Monterosso's Italian Restaurant in Richland, located in a vintage Pullman dining car, offers delicious and reasonably priced Italian cuisine.

If you've ever lived in Eastern Washington, you probably know about the iconic Frank's Diner in Spokane as well as its neighbor, Knight's Diner. But not enough Washingtonians are aware that there's another train car restaurant on that side of the state, and it happens to serve some seriously mouthwatering Italian food.

Monterosso's Italian Restaurant opened in Richland in 1995.

Their address is 1026 Lee Blvd.

The restaurant is located in a 1947 vintage Pullman dining car.

After the car was retired from duty, it was renovated in 1971 when it was moved to Richland and turned into a respected tailor’s home. Owner Aaron Burks and his team took it over in 1994 and turned it into this beautiful eatery.

Monterosso is Italian for Red Mountain, after the area it resides in.

The name was chosen by the owner, after one of his favorite cities on the Northern Italian coast.

The team works hard to deliver delicious Italian entrees, and they certainly succeed.

Their menu is full of tasty classics like lasagna and pasta primavera as well as steaks and seafood.

Monterosso's is open Monday - Saturday, although hours vary.

You can enjoy lunch there Tuesday - Friday from 11 - 2, while dinner is always served from 5 - 9.

Not only is the food here delicious, it's reasonably priced.

This means you can always say yes to dessert.
