Hidden Beaches in the United States

March 27, 2022

What are some of the most beautiful hidden beaches in the United States?

Who says you need to go somewhere like Norway or Scotland for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world? As it turns out, we’ve got plenty of our own here – so many that it’s kind of difficult to choose which ones are the best ones. Some of our favorite beaches in the United States include the amazing Sandbridge Beach, in Virginia; it’s five miles of stunningly beautiful, quiet shoreline, surrounded by beautiful homes. In Georgia, there’s Cumberland Island, where wild horses and armadillos roam; those beaches are only accessible by ferry – talk about hidden! In California, there are many famous beaches like Big Sur and Carmel by the Sea, but one of the lesser-known beautiful beaches are the ones at Montaña de Oro State Park. It’s one of the lesser-known state parks – and subsequently, lesser-known beaches – in all of California. Finally, the Bandon State Natural Area in Oregon is particularly breathtaking, with interesting sea stacks and excellent beachcombing. Want some more ideas (and more information about these ones)? Visit this article for all you’ll need to plan your adventures.

Are there any amazing secret beaches in the United States I should visit?

Though no beach is technically a “secret” anymore, there are certain beaches that are less popular than others (like the ones listed in the above paragraph). Some beaches that are so under-appreciated that they might as well be secret include Kauapea Beach, Kauai, Hawaii – a beach so under-visited that it’s often called Secret Beach! It’s tucked between Kilauea Point and Kalihiwai Bay and is, much like most of Hawaii, absolutely breathtaking. In South Carolina, there’s Kiawah Island, where there are 10 miles of pristine coastline to admire – like Cumberland Island in Georgia; that one is accessible by boat. Finally, head to Lovers Key State Park in Florida, which is beautiful and feels very secluded.
