Looking for a peaceful, charming town to call home in Oregon? Consider the riverside village of Nehalem, just minutes from the coast.

Gorgeous Nehalem is a small community in the lower Nehalem River Valley. You'll find several unique restaurants and shops along the main road that winds along the river and then bends back toward the ocean.

Just minutes from the Oregon Coast, Nehalem sits along the beautiful Nehalem River.

The City of Nehalem was chartered in 1899. At that time, this city along the Nehalem River, according to city records, already had a post office, church, general store, school, sawmill, and tavern.

Beauty and calm await in this wonderful town. Nehalem is surrounded by stunning fields, trees, and other green spaces.

Fewer than 300 people live here.

Wanda's Cafe + Bakery is a wonderful bakery and eatery that delights locals and visitors alike for daily breakfast or lunch.

This is one of my favorite cafes and I always stop when in the area for one of the delicious salads, sandwiches, or breakfast items.

Another great spot is Riverside Fish 'n Chips. I love the fantastic soups at Buttercup Ice Creams & Chowders, too.

Just a short drive away you will find wide open beaches, majestic rock formations, and several other charming beach towns like picturesque Manzanita.
